Help to children in the prison
Needs For Children visit the children in the Kumba Prison every month. The target group are children from 12 to 21 years. There is a close partnership with the police and guards of the prison. The inmates live in miserable conditions. It is dirty and full Everyone has a spot on the ground to sleep.
During the monthly visit the team of Needs For Children gives education about all kinds of subjects; often related to health problems in the prison. At the end of the visit food or tools are always given.
Besides giving health talks, Needs For Children started a library in the prison. In this way the young inmates can keep themselves educated. They also teaches them handwork to generate income. This ranges from making paper beads to making bags.
